The wedding planning has picked back up since I found a promising location finally! It is an hour away, but if it turns out as I imagine it will be well worth it.
I have been sick the last week and the last two days of it I have been full of inspiration for the wedding. I thought I should write these ideas down so that I remember them when I need to.
- I have my dress, which I can't share on here for obvious reasons.
(although I am thinking of buying another dress to change into after the ceremony, something shorter and something less expensive so I don't need to worry if I spill something on it.)
- I have found the bridesmaid dresses that I am going to buy in black, it is the convertible dress so all the bridesmaids can change the style and I will be adding peacock feathers going down the side:
- as for the centerpieces I will have two bamboo stalks tied together in one clear dish for each guest at the table. Each dish will be filled with water colored to fit the peacock theme.
Two Stalk Bamboo Centerpieces
Two bamboo stalks together is the strongest significance of love, and bamboo is often presented this way in centerpieces. Tie two bamboo stalks together with some dried hemp or raffia grass. Place the stalks into some water held in a decorative glass.
- Bouquet: I found a unique idea for my bouquet...I've always had a problem with having a real bouquet that would die so this would be a perfect alternative that I could keep in our home long after the wedding. They custom make the bouquet out of any paper you want, love letters, printed pages, your wedding invitation, which makes it even more special!
- and last I want to have a laid back bbq reception, I haven't talked to John about this yet, but he did say I'm the one who makes the decisions and he's happy as long as we get married so...I think he'll like it.
-lemonade stand with different types of lemonade
- buckets of ice with sodas and beer.
I think my brain is done thinking for today so if I can think of anything else I will share later!
I'm so excited to be Mrs. Roberts and to marry the love of my life!
