Don't forget to smile...

I have had a strange month, a lot of ups and downs. There is one thing that I know, I am growing ...I am becoming who I will be forever, and I'm pretty excited about it. I have learned one thing through this month that will always be true, you should never go a day without smiling.

I am one lucky girl to have a man who, even after a day when nothing goes right, can make me laugh and for even a brief moment make everything blissful and beautiful. I love this man so!

Smiling is important, more important than taking your vitamins and exercisng daily, even if it's just a simple smile when you randomly see something you enjoy looking at and know you will one day have.

I know I don't laugh as much as I used to, but I hope I will be able to get back to that, having fun without even trying....

Life improvements....

I am finally figuring out who I want to be and what I picture my life as.
I need to start getting there. So I deceided to make a quick list of some things that will help me get there.

6 goals to reach by October 7th...

Wish me luck, and share any of your own goals with me so we can help motivate each other!

Oh, and P.S. I have lost about 3 pounds since cutting out soda! YAY!!

challenges...

John, in a round about way,  has challenged me to stop drinking soda. At first I was like I'm not addicted to soda, I just like it so what's the harm?

But the more I think about it the more I wonder, would it be better if I stopped. If it was better for me than why wouldn't I try it?!
So I'm going to try it. It is going to be my little experiment...I'm even going to weigh myself and see if that changes because of taking out soda.

So I am going to be counting on these .....

As of now I have pretty dry skin, my hands are always dry and I hate it, so we will see if that is going to change during this process.

If anyone wants to join me and share our progress and results let me know!

& now I leave you with a song...this is the song for the day, at least for me.

healthy, good food!

I've been trying to be a little inventive with food lately. I have to go to work in an hour so I thought i'd make something for lunch break other than a sandwich. So I made this........

Teriyaki Tofu with mushrooms almonds and green onions. It smells really good!

Our view

It is such a nice day out today!

Check Lists!

Change for the better!....
I noticed a trend in my life, and I want to change it.

Postponing things!

This has been a problem since I got out of High School. I even postpone things that I'd like to do and that are really enjoyable to me. I have finished sending out our wedding invitations and really can't do much to do with the wedding until I get some more money, so I decided today will be the day of doing those things I have been putting off.

Check list:

- Fill out NCE packet and get into envelopes to be sent out tomorrow!

- Make my nephew his shirt/cd that I promised him (this one makes me sad that I put it off at all)

- Buy that dress I want online

- Go through suit case

- Go for a walk with John

There are many things that people put aside for later that, in the long run are the most important.

What do you love to do, but haven't done because you've been too busy?

Send me a comment and let me know. Try doing it, even if it's just a small thing.

good work outs...

So for the last week I have started to work out...I haven't quite gotten into my perfect routine yet, but I found a video that I really like. It's Jillian Michaels 30 shred. I love Jillian anyways, but after doing this video I love her even more. She pushes you just enough, at least for me...when you start feeling like "alright dude, i'm just going to stop for a second" she lets you know that you only have two more left and then it puts your mind at ease and I was like....oh, okay, I can do two more! The video has 3 stages, you are supposed to do each stage for 10 days. I am still on stage 1, my 3rd day technically because I skipped one day and did tae bo instead and yesterday I spent all day up north trying to figure out my wedding invitation situation so I didn't do anything.
Today I have done the video and am going to go jogging for a little bit to make up for yesterday.

I really do feel the results though and it's not anything too hard where you can't move the next day like when I ran 5 miles randomly.

I want to make up a calendar of what workouts i'll do for that week and change it up a bit because I get bored easily doing the same thing each time.

If anyone knows of any other good videos I should try out let me know!

wedding planning!

The wedding planning has picked back up since I found a promising location finally! It is an hour away, but if it turns out as I imagine it will be well worth it.

I have been sick the last week and the last two days of it I have been full of inspiration for the wedding. I thought I should write these ideas down so that I remember them when I need to.

 - I have my dress, which I can't share on here for obvious reasons.
(although I am thinking of buying another dress to change into after the ceremony, something shorter and something less expensive so I don't need to worry if I spill something on it.)

- I have found the bridesmaid dresses that I am going to buy in black, it is the convertible dress so all the bridesmaids can change the style and I will be adding peacock feathers going down the side:

- as for the centerpieces I will have two bamboo stalks tied together in one clear dish for each guest at the table. Each dish will be filled with water colored to fit the peacock theme.

Two Stalk Bamboo Centerpieces

  • Two bamboo stalks together is the strongest significance of love, and bamboo is often presented this way in centerpieces. Tie two bamboo stalks together with some dried hemp or raffia grass. Place the stalks into some water held in a decorative glass.

  • - Bouquet: I found a unique idea for my bouquet...I've always had a problem with having a real bouquet that would die so this would be a perfect alternative that I could keep in our home long after the wedding. They custom make the bouquet out of any paper you want, love letters, printed pages, your wedding invitation, which makes it even more special!

    - and last I want to have a laid back bbq reception, I haven't talked to John about this yet, but he did say I'm the one who makes the decisions and he's happy as long as we get married so...I think he'll like it.

-lemonade stand with different types of lemonade
    - buckets of ice with sodas and beer.

I think my brain is done thinking for today so if I can think of anything else I will share later!

I'm so excited to be Mrs. Roberts and to marry the love of my life!
